Halloween Weekend in Bernal

The Pack members were Halloween party poopers.  We didn't dress up, we didn't hand out candy, and we didn't go to any parties.

But we still had a very nice weekend in our neighborhood, Bernal Heights.  It started with a sunset walk on Bernal Hill.

We also grabbed a drink at Holy Water, a new bar in Bernal.  It's at the same location as the Stray Bar, our old favorite.  It got a nice upgrade, but it still has that same Bernal charm (i.e. it's not rowdy).  And it welcomes Pack Member Jordi.

 {"Hey, barkeep, I'll take a chewy, and make that a double!"}

Even though we were Halloween lame-os, our neighborhood got into the spirit.  There were lots of trick or treaters, and some cute houses with decorations.

We did manage to sneak out of our neighborhood for a movie at the Kabuki movie theatre.  We saw About Time.  Not our favorite.  But we love the Kabuki.  The seats are comfortable.  And it serves alcohol!  This has two benefits.  One:  In some of the theaters, you can drink booze while watching a movie.  Lawfully drink, to be clear.  There are full bars outside of the theaters.  Two:  Those under 21 are not allowed in the theaters in which drinking is permitted.  That means no teeny boppers giggling and playing on their phones during a movie.

Our weekend also included a trip to our favorite restaurant in Bernal, Vega.  The food is consistently good and the wine list is solid.  It's just a pleasant and relaxing place to have a nice dinner.

Thanks for visiting!
