... is crunchy and spicy chickpeas, a Romanian recipe my mom shared with me. This snack has become a staple in our home, especially when we have guests over. It's healthy and quick to make. The batch I made today was devoured in 10 minutes, so next time I'll plan on making 2 batches.
Ingredients:
1 can of chickpeas that is drained, rinsed, and dried really well with a paper towel
1 tablespoon curry powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon garlic powder (you can use fresh garlic, you just have to grate it)
Spicy pepper - I used 1 Serrano pepper that I grated (jalapeño is also a good option)
Salt
Pinch of crushed red pepper (optional)
2-3 tablespoons of olive oil
2-3 tablespoons lemon juice
Preheat the oven at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Mix all ingredients well.
Place the mixture on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure the chickpeas are spread out without covering each other.
Bake until golden brown and crunchy on the outside.
Enjoy with a cold beer or a cocktail.
Thanks for visiting!
Trying this tonight. By the way, I tried your French Yogurt Cake - it was perfect. I also thought, next time I'll add some ground cardamom - will add a nice, Middle Eastern touch :) Thanks for giving me new ideas ...
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad you liked the lemon cake and let me know how it tastes with cardamon ... and if you have other suggestions for any of my recipes.
